Introduction to the School of Economics and Management

经济管理学院的历史与学校创立发展过程基本同步。1974年学校开设了以培养初中教师为目标的政治专业中专班。1977年恢复高考后，开设了大专“史地”专业，并成立政史地教研组，承担教学及管理工作。1985年在钦州地区教师进修学校的名义下开设了面向中学教师的“政治教育”专业成人大专班，并在政史地教研组基础上成立政史科，1988年，学校更名为钦州地区教育学院，政史科也于同年更名政史系。1988年以广西师院钦州分院名义开设“政治教育”普通专科专业。2001年2月，为了适应服务本地社会经济发展的需要，我系又更名为政治与经济系，经济管理类专业得到大力发展，2010年8月更名为商学院，2015年4月正式更名为经济管理学院。目前是北部湾大学规模最大的二级学院。

The history of the School of Economics and Management is almost synonymous with the founding and development of the university. In 1974, the school initiated a political education program for middle school teachers at the secondary vocational level. Following the resumption of the college entrance examination in 1977, a junior college program in "History and Geography" was established, and a Political, History, and Geography Teaching and Research Group was formed to undertake teaching and management responsibilities. In 1985, under the name of Qinzhou Regional Teacher Training School, the school launched an adult junior college program in "Political Education" for middle school teachers, and the Political and History Department was established on the basis of the previous group. In 1988, when the school was renamed Qinzhou Regional Education College, the Political and History Department was also renamed the Department of Politics and History. In 1988, a regular junior college program in "Political Education" was offered under the name of Guangxi Teachers College Qinzhou Branch. In order to meet the needs of serving local socio-economic development, the department was renamed the Department of Politics and Economics in 2001, with significant growth in economics and management programs. It was renamed the Business School in August 2010 and officially became the School of Economics and Management in April 2015. Currently, it is the largest secondary school at Beibu Gulf University.

学院现有国际商务硕士点1个，物流管理、旅游管理、市场营销、国际经济与贸易、财务管理、城市管理、金融工程7个本科专业。有在读学生3031人(含研究生117人)。学院正重点筹备推进管理科学与工程硕士点建设。

The school currently offers 1 master's degree program in International Business and 7 bachelor's degree programs, including Logistics Management, Tourism Management, Marketing, International Economics and Trade, Financial Management, Urban Management, and Financial Engineering. There are 3,031 students enrolled, including 117 graduate students. The school is prioritizing the preparation and promotion of the Master's degree program in Management Science and Engineering.

二、师资介绍与办学特色

Faculty Introduction and Educational Characteristics

经济管理学院教职工110人，专任教师93人。其中，正高级职称14人，副高级职称32人，高级职称占专任教师总数的48.39%；博士21人，在读博士29人，获得博士学位的老师占专任教师总数的22.56%。拥有“港口物流与湾区经济发展”广西高校高水平创新团队、“北部湾经济区海洋经济”广西高等教育创优计划、“北部湾小微企业培育与发展”创新创业教学团队等3个省级教学科研团队。建成了以广西特聘专家（1人）、广西卓越学者（1人）、钦州市青年科技人才（1人）为带头人和硕士研究生导师（36人）为骨干的高水平师资队伍。

The School of Economics and Management has 110 faculty members, including 93 full-time teachers. Among them, there are 14 professors and 32 associate professors, accounting for 48.39% of the total full-time teachers with senior titles; 21 hold Ph.D. degrees(accounting for 22.56% of the total full-time teachers), and 29 are currently pursuing their Ph.D.s. The school possesses three provincial-level teaching and research teams, namely, the "Port Logistics and Bay Area Economic Development" High-Level Innovation Team of Guangxi Colleges and Universities, the "Beibu Gulf Economic Zone Marine Economy" Guangxi Higher Education Excellence Program, and the "Cultivation and Development of Small and Micro Enterprises in the Beibu Gulf" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Teaching Team. A high-level teaching staff has been established, led by Guangxi Distinguished Experts (1 person), Guangxi Excellent Scholars (1 person), and Qinzhou Young Scientific Talents (1 person), with master's degree supervisors (36 people) as the backbone.

学院坚持以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想为指导，贯彻落实党的教育方针，紧密围绕“立足区域、面向东盟、聚焦海洋、突出港口、服务运河”办学理念，不断彰显和强化“经管+海洋”特色，建有“经济管理”广西高校优势特色专业群1个。拥有“管理科学与工程”省级重点学科（在建）1个；“物流管理”和“国际经济与贸易”等省级一流本科专业2个；“国际经济与贸易”国家级虚拟教研室1个；《微观经济学》（双语）国家级一流课程1门；《宏观经济学》（双语）《创新与实践教育》《旅游电子商务》等省级一流课程3门；《中国－东盟文化沟通与管理》省级课程思政示范课程1门。学院以服务地方经济发展为宗旨，对内加强内涵建设，运用OBE教学理念，突出学生能力培养；对外加强校企合作，联合办学，逐渐形成学院特有文化及办学特色。

The School adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implements the Party's educational policy, and closely centers around the educational philosophy of "being regionally based, ASEAN-oriented, ocean-focused, port-highlighted, and canal-serving". It continuously highlights and strengthens the "Economics and Management + Ocean" characteristic, and has established one Guangxi Advantageous and Characteristic Major Group for Higher Education in "Economics and Management". The School possesses one provincial key discipline (in progress) in "Management Science and Engineering", two provincial first-class undergraduate majors in "Logistics Management" and "International Economics and Trade", one national virtual teaching and research section in "International Economics and Trade", one national first-class course in "Microeconomics" (bilingual), three provincial first-class courses in "Macroeconomics" (bilingual), "Innovation and Practice Education", and "Tourism E-commerce", and one provincial ideological and political education demonstration course in "China-ASEAN Cultural Communication and Management". With the aim of serving local economic development, the School strengthens internal construction by emphasizing student ability cultivation through the application of OBE (Outcome-Based Education) teaching concepts, and externally enhances school-enterprise cooperation and joint education, gradually forming its unique cultural and educational characteristics.

三、教学与科研成果

Teaching and Scientific Research Achievements

学院已建成“北部湾现代港口物流重点实验室”广西高校重点实验室、“面向东盟的国际物流创新人才培养基地”、“滨海旅游虚拟仿真中心”等3个省级科研平台。建有“北部湾现代港口物流重点实验室”和“金融工程重点实验室”等2个市厅级重点实验室。学院已建成实验实训大数据中心1个，面积达6000平米，建有港航物流、进出口贸易、金融模拟等教学科研实验室23间。

The School has established three provincial-level research platforms, namely the "Key Laboratory of Modern Port Logistics in the Beibu Gulf" among Guangxi Colleges and Universities, the "Talent Cultivation Base for International Logistics Innovation Facing ASEAN," and the "Coastal Tourism Virtual Simulation Center." It has also built two city- or department-level key laboratories, including the "Key Laboratory of Modern Port Logistics in the Beibu Gulf" and the "Key Laboratory of Financial Engineering." The School has set up one experimental and practical training big data center with an area of 6,000 square meters, equipped with 23 teaching and research laboratories for port and shipping logistics, import and export trade, financial simulation, and other fields.

学院注重学生的实践技能和德育培养，先后与广西自贸区钦州港片区开发投资集团有限责任公司、广西香海船务有限公司、广西北部湾国际港务集团有限公司、国投广西钦州港有限公司、南宁产业投资集团等共建产学研教学基地，已建成省级研究生联合培养基地1个。与杭州阿里巴巴共建“鑫校园”平台1个，以“产学研”合作模式成立了用友新道创新创业学院和国泰安创新创业学院各1个，以满足学生实习实训需要。

The School emphasizes the cultivation of students' practical skills and moral education. It has successively established industry-academia-research teaching bases with companies such as Guangxi Free Trade Zone Qinzhou Port Area Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd., Guangxi Xianghai Shipping Co., Ltd., Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co., Ltd., SDIC Guangxi Qinzhou Port Co., Ltd., and Nanning Industrial Investment Group, and has built one provincial graduate joint training base. Together with Hangzhou Alibaba, the School has established one "Xin Campus" platform. Following the "industry-academia-research" cooperation model, it has also set up one Yonyou Xindao Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute and one Guotai'an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute to meet students' needs for internships and practical training.

近三年来，学院教职工依托“广西高校人文社会科学重点研究基地北部湾海洋发展研究中心”、“陆海新通道北部湾研究院”、“钦州发展研究院”、“北部湾海洋经济研究院”、“区域与国别研究院”等5个科研机构，在港航物流、湾区经济、海洋资源管理、地方建设与发展等领域开展前瞻性科学研究和应用性技术创新，学院教职工主持国家自然科学基金项目、国家社会科学基金项目4项，教育部人文社会科学基金项目等省部级课题10余项，其他各类课题70余项，累计各类科研经费超700万元。出版学术专著10余部、在CSSCI/SCI/SSCI来源期刊和中文核心期刊发表论文30余篇。获省部级及以上科研成果奖3项、省部级及以上教学成果奖2项。大力推动科研成果转化，近30余篇咨政报告被各级政府采纳。

In the past three years, faculty members of the School have relied on five research institutions, including the "Guangxi Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences for the Development of the Beibu Gulf Ocean Research Center", "Beibu Gulf Research Institute for the New Land-Sea Corridor", "Qinzhou Development Research Institute", "Beibu Gulf Marine Economy Research Institute", and "Institute of Regional and Country Studies", to conduct forward-looking scientific research and applied technological innovation in fields such as port and shipping logistics, bay area economics, marine resource management, and local construction and development. Faculty members have presided over 4 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Fund of China, more than 10 provincial and ministerial-level projects such as those funded by the Humanities and Social Sciences Fund of the Ministry of Education, and over 70 other various projects, with a cumulative research funding exceeding RMB 7 million. They have published more than 10 academic monographs and over 30 papers in CSSCI/SCI/SSCI-indexed journals and Chinese core journals. The School has won 3 scientific research achievements awards and 2 teaching achievement awards at the provincial and ministerial level or above. Efforts have been made to promote the transformation of scientific research achievements, with nearly 30 policy consultation reports adopted by governments at all levels.

学院组织学生参加POCIB全国外贸从业能力大赛、OCALE全国跨境电商创新创业能力大赛、全国大学生创新创业能力大赛等各类专业学科竞赛。近三年来，学院获得“互联网+”大学生创新创业大赛广西赛区银奖1项，铜奖2项；获得专业学科竞赛国家级33人，省级以上奖励62人；共完成大创项目立项89项，结题55项。近三年累计毕业学生2794人，平均就业率在80%以上，很好地适应了广西沿海地区经济社会发展需要，学院知名度稳步提升。

The School organizes students to participate in various professional and academic competitions, such as the POCIB National Foreign Trade Professional Competency Competition, the OCALE National Cross-border E-commerce Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. In the past three years, the School has won one silver award and two bronze awards in the "Internet+" College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Guangxi. A total of 33 students have received national awards in professional and academic competitions, and 62 students have received provincial-level or higher awards. The School has completed 89 innovation project approvals and 55 project completions. In the past three years, 2,794 students have graduated, with an average employment rate of over 80%. They have well adapted to the economic and social development needs of Guangxi's coastal regions, and the School's reputation has steadily improved.
